Dimensions of Sprocket

Sprockets is often classified into conventional sprockets, HK sprockets together with other sprockets.
1. Conventional sprocket
Normal sprockets are ANSI sprockets which may be engaged with conventional series roller chains. See P125 for dimensions.
You can find two styles of tooth profiles: U-tooth and S-tooth.
two. HK sprocket
HK sprockets is often engaged with HK series roller chains, and those for single strand chains are identical to typical sprockets. Having said that, sprockets for many strand chains are different from standard sprockets in sprocket tooth profile.
three. Other sprockets
Other sprockets are built according towards the following calculation formulas to suit respective specialty chains.
The sprockets utilized for your following chains will be the same because the regular sprockets in tooth gap type, but distinctive in tooth thickness (sprocket tooth profile).
four. Calculation of sprocket dimensions
The dimensions of regular sprockets along with other standard sprockets are calculated as follows. Initially, the diameters of sprockets are calculated in the following calculation formulas.
Following, sprocket tooth profile (the shape of the tooth based on its thickness) is calculated from the following calculation formulas. (The values shown within the following pages have been calculated by these formulas and thought to be the conventional values.)
Calculation formulas for diameters and tooth gap kinds Calculation formulas for diameters
Calculation of pitch diameter, tip diameter and caliper diameter
The essential dimensions of the sprocket suitable for a chain pitch of 1 mm are respectively called pitch diameter element, tip diameter component and caliper diameter issue. The respective aspects for respective numbers of teeth are listed below. If these factors are multiplied by chain pitch, the fundamental dimensions of the corresponding sprocket can be obtained.
Instance:
Inside the case of 80 (25.40 mm pitch) with 35 teeth Pitch diameter (Dp) = P×Pitch diameter issue
Calculation formulas for tooth gap varieties
As the most rational tooth gap types during which the pressure angle alterations in response towards the elongation of the smoothly rotated roller chain with the lapse of services time, ANSI specify two types of tooth profiles: U-type and S-type. Generally, S-type tooth profiles are adopted in accordance with ANSI, and our standard sprockets also have S-tooth profiles.
